(Baton Rouge, Louisiana - LA, USA)
Despite being the Louisiana state capital, Baton Rouge is a low key transportation hub, with nearby New Orleans providing the main aviation links and receiving the Amtrak Sunset service that traverses the Southern states.
However, by road the city is easily reached using I-10 and I-12 from the west and east. New Orleans is well connected to the city by shuttle bus and highway. Baton Rouge also has its own minor airport for domestic flights and an efficient metropolitan transit system.

With the much larger New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport within an hour's drive of Baton Rouge, which provides a more extensive range of international flights, Baton Rouge's Metropolitan Airport does not see too much air traffic. The airport only serves four airlines: Delta, Continental, American and Northwest Airlines. The terminal is modern and contains facilities such as shopping, food and drink, ample parking and banking services. Shuttle services are the most common means of transporting passengers to the downtown area and taxis are also freely available. Several car rental agencies maintain desks at the airport.
